Synopsis::
Prem Sanghat is about the Bengali Robinhood, Soorjo (Chiranjit) who is a burglar to the dishonest rich people and saviour to the needy and poor. He extracts from the former only to bestow on the latter selflessly. He takes on this job after facing a tragic past of losing his sister who commits suicide when his brother is unable to get her married due to the high dowry demands. She is rejected on the day of her wedding and takes such a drastic step. Soorjo goes in search of job along with his loyal friend Shakti ( Abhishek Chatterjee) but they are unable to live a decent life due to the oppression around. It is then that he decides to have a motive in life of saving the poor people. Soorjo is misunderstood by Raatri ( Indrani Halder ) to be a loafer but he proves his true character to her by taking her to the slums where he is considered to be the saviour. She apologises to him for her misbehaviour and they fall deeply in love. Raatri’s father is a greedy rich man who wants to destroy the slums being the owner of that land. Soorjo stands as a shield when the burglar Kaala tries to destroy the slums. Soorjo again plans a decent life following Raatri’s instruction and he works at a garage. But when Kaala starts taking advantage of his absence, Raatri herself sends the saviour back to the slums to help the needy. She decides to repent for her father’s sins by helping the poor people there. Finally, her father realises that all his black market jobs and riches were useless and futile without his daughter. He goes to bless Raatri and Soorjo on the day of their marriage when he is killed by Kaala who even tried to steal Raatri’s respect. Soorjo teaches Kaala a lesson and Kaala is arrested by the police. The love birds live happily and start a new beginning. This movie has many elements- drama, action and romance. The songs are super melodious and romantic.
