People that dominate the public discourse have a distorted view of reality and that's what I wanted to point out: that Chomsky is pointing out that the media is presenting a very distorted view of the world. There is an intellectual community of which the media are a part, which, I don't have time — I'll talk about it if you like, but it does give an extremely skewed picture of the world. What I am saying is if you take an average of human decency of the American population, people in these positions in the media are a lot more likely to be in the group with the least amount of human decency .
