I shortened the length of my fountain head by a few inches (desired for easier mounting) and am now using the small stir stick straws instead of regular drinking straws. This has made the stream better than before and it now "sticks together" for about three extra feet when shot into the air....

The output from the pump now feeds through a 40mm dia low pass filter which supplies the laminar nozzle. Probably should be wider but I thought it'd be easier to build thinner and taller :-) Flow is more steady but could be better ..... wonder if I can feed the 40mm pipe into some sort of sealed...
